PRODUCT CARE QUESTIONS

Common questions, honest answers.

Real answers to the questions almost everyone asks about cup and disc care.

Is it really hygienic to reuse a cup or disc?

Yes. Cups and discs are designed to be washed and reused. Start with clean hands, empty and rinse yours at least every 12 hours, and sanitise it between cycles.

Do I need to boil it every time I empty it?

No. During your period, simply empty and rinse it before reinserting. Sanitise it before first use and between cycles.

What if I need to empty it in a public bathroom?

No sink in the cubicle? No stress. Wash your hands before entering, empty your cup or disc into the toilet, then give it a quick rinse using clean water from your Baobabe Steriliser Cup. Simply fill it with water before heading into the cubicle.

No water available? You can reinsert your cup or disc and give it a thorough rinse when you next have access to a private sink.

Tip: Your Steriliser Cup isn’t just for sterilising - it makes a handy little rinse cup when you’re on the go.

Is staining or a slight smell normal?

A little discolouration or a temporary odour can happen over time and doesn’t necessarily mean your cup or disc needs replacing. Regular cleaning and proper storage will help keep it in good condition.

Can it get mouldy while being stored?

Damp, airtight storage can encourage mould. Let your cup or disc dry completely before placing it in its breathable pouch, and never store it in a sealed container.

When should I replace my cup or disc?

Your Baobabe is designed to last for up to 5 years with proper care. Replace it if you notice tears, cracks, stickiness, deterioration or any significant change to the silicone.
